State Police in Rensselaer County began investigating on Wednesday, Nov. 30, after receiving a complaint about a past robbery that had occurred at a storage unit in Troy on Hoosick Road.

Investigators said the victim had been at the facility when 29-year-old Rebekah Arney and another person robbed them.

Troopers determined that Arney had broken into the unit, causing damage, and was living there without the property owner’s permission, police said.

A subsequent search of the unit turned up several items that had been stolen from a home in Troy.

Arney and another suspect, 32-year-old Shadoe Warren, of Troy, were both arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 6, after they were seen fleeing from the storage unit where the robbery occurred, police said.

Arney is facing multiple charges, including robbery, criminal mischief, and criminal trespass. She was arraigned at the Brunswick Town Court and later turned over to the Cohoes Police Department on an active bench warrant.

Warren was arrested for third-degree criminal trespass and issued an appearance ticket to the Brunswick Town Court, where he was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday, Dec. 14.

State Police said the investigation is ongoing.
